Macaroni and Cheese
By: Mary Ellen Pinkham

See recipe below for a delicious macaroni and cheese side dish that is hearty enough to accompany even the thickest of steaks.

TIPical Mary Ellen host Mary Ellen Pinkham shares tips on how to make various versions of macaroni and cheese.

If you want creamier macaroni and cheese from a box, try adding one cup of cottage cheese or sour cream.

For an unusual flavor, add one cup of cream of mushroom soup to macaroni and cheese.

Turn it into a pizza. Prepare the usual macaroni-and-cheese package, mix with two eggs, then spread onto a pizza pan. Bake for 10 minutes at 350 degrees. Next, add toppings and bake for another 10 minutes (figure A).

Add vegetables such as broccoli, cauliflower or tomatoes the next time you make macaroni and cheese (figure B).

Macaroni and cheese makes a great base for a hearty casserole. After mixing up the mac and cheese, add other ingredients such as tuna, hamburger or vegetables.
